QUALITY CHECK OF INCOMING MATERIALS

  • Incoming Raw materials, collect from each lot/ vehicle, all types of material must be present in sample.

02 Analysis

As specified in analysis parameter as:

  • Pass through 100 mic Mess (Except drilling sample).
  • Moisture free.
  • Weight properly.
  • Dissolve properly.
  • Follow IS Processor properly
03 Elevation against standard & release of non-conforming product.

Chemical composition and process as elaborated in various work instruction.

04 Reporting & Documentation
  • Report conforming/ Non conforming.
  • Maintain daily logbook & register.
05 Audit of chemical & solution.
  • Cross check the solution strength, Activeness.
  • Cross check analysis process & Instruments working conditions.

QUALITY CHECK OF INTERMEDIATE MATERIALS

HRM 1 Process Observation

As specified in format Process parameter as:

  • Receiving production planning schedule from Despatch deptt.
  • Checking thickness and width of hot rolled coil after every five coils.
  • Mentioning planned size (thick x width) on coil along with coil no., weight of coils with hot chalk.
  • If coil having some manufacturing defects like - Fold, edgecut, shifting, telescopic etc. around circle from hot chalk to be marked on coil.
  • Keep separate these coils for detail inspection on recoiler.
  • Any missroll or cobble to be kept separately
  • Ok coils which satisfy standard or customer specification after checking can be dispatched to customer/ Pipe plant (internal application).
2 Sampling

Collection & identification of samples for mechanical testing and micro analysis.

3 Elevation against standards & release of non conforming product

Mechanical testing & process observation as elaborated in HR COILS PROCESS INSPECTION REPORT.

4 Identification & disposition of nonconforming product.
  • Off in chemistry
  • Process deviation
  • Off in micro analysis/ mechanical testing
  • Coil surface defect
  • Gauge variation
  • Width variation
5 Inspection of coil surface at recoiler
  • Check the coil surface. It shall be defect free like - fold, edgecut, lamination, pitting & non-metallic inclusion.
  • Measure the thickness and width in body at least four places as well as on both ends.
  • Make report on hard copy or excel sheet in a prescribed format.
  • Provide quality gradation as Prime/ Divesion/Non prime based on standard / customer specification.
  • Provide detail on coil like coil no. normal size, Min, Max width & thickness
  • Keep separate Non prime coils and mark them as NP.
SMS 1 Sampling

As specified Process parameter as:

  • Cutting
  • Polishing
  • Cooling
2 Analysis

follow Spectro manual & maintain parameter

3 Elevation against standard Sample

Chemical composition standardized against primary standard sample routine basis

4 Reporting & documentation
  • Report conforming/ non conforming.
  • Maintain daily log book & register
5 Audit of chemical & solution
